This log, on Stardate 41209.2, features the mass suicide of a fellow Star Fleet ship. Over 80 people died, from faulty weather controls and the emergency hatch being blown.
Wesley...oh Wesley. He shows that whether you're from the 20th century or the 24th century, you can be a complete nerd. He built a little sound board just to play pretend that he was on the bridge, not exactly normal behavior for most teenagers. "Acting Captain Weslley Crusher" indeed.
"You are fully functional aren't you?" One of the defining moments of season one for me. I mean, just how hilarious is it that Tasha Yar seduced Data?! I love that it's one of the things that is refered to throughout the series.
By the second half of this episode, everyone is acting completely nuts. Dr. Crusher and the Captain are all flirty, Data is acting funny drunk, Geordie is beligerant and Troi passed out.
And of course, drunkie Dr. cures everyone and Wesley figures out how to keep the star piece from hitting the ship. Crushers to the win!

Encounter at Farpoint - Season 1 Episode 1
This log, Stardate 41153.7, is the beginning of the voyages of Captain Jean-Luc Picard and his crew aboard the star ship Enterprise. The crew is introduced, with Captain Picard inspiring respect and loyalty from the very beginning. Counselor Deanna Troy seems to have yet to come into her powers. She can sense emotions, being half betazed, a telepathic race. She has already met First Officer Commander William Thomas Riker prior to being introduced by Captain Picard. Speaking telepathically to Riker, she calls him Imzadi, which has yet to be explained. Commander Riker has shown himself to be innovative, the first to see any sort of problem at Farpoint. Lt. Commander Tasha Yar was an angry and impulsive security officer, with Lt. Worf, half Klingon according to records, as her second in command. Both Yar and Worf obviously had the best interests of the ship at heart, despite being so impulsive. Lt. Commander Data was one of the most interesting officers of this time. Data was an android, the only one ever to be accepted into Star Fleet. They were not mass produced, and Data seems to be an individual. Dr. Crusher and her son have met Captain Picard before being assigned to his command. Captain Picard was the one to bring home Wesley Crusher's father after he died, presumably in the line of duty for Star Fleet. Wesley has shown himself to be very smart for his age, in his first meeting with Captain Picard on the Bridge, he knew how to work the console despite never being on a bridge before. Lt. Geordie LaForge was briefly introduced, but all that was explained thus far is that he has been blind since birth, and uses a device that allows him to "see" various spectrums invisible to the human eye.
After taking command of his crew, Captain Picard directed them to go to Farpoint station to collect those not yet on the ship, Commander Riker and Dr. Crusher to name some of them. Before getting there, they were interrupted by the entity Q. Q has a great deal of power, and is not yet fully understood. He intended to blame the crew of the Enterprise for the crimes of all of humanity. Captain Picard convinced Q to give them a chance to prove themselves. He agreed and sent them on their way to Farpoint. There, after picking up the remaining members of the crew, they proceeded to investigate the strange happenings. Eventually through the help of everyone in the crew they discovered the solution at just the right moment, with a little nudging from Q himself. I don't wish to give away exactly what happened for those of you who have yet to see the actual logs.
I did enjoy viewing this log. I look forward to seeing how this crew with grow and change with each other.

"Trek-Blog Manifesto" - The Croms Edition
Hello, you may address me as Lt. Commander Croms. I am to be assisted by Commander Mojdeh in following the world of Star Trek the Next Generation and rendering these logs for the 21st century's understanding.
In particular I will be viewing the 158 "DVD episode" rendering of these logs in order. Each of my own logs will include my impressions of success, growth, and judgment of how well they maintained the Prime Directive. My logs will be titled with the same name of the log I viewed to reduce confusion.
Please feel free to "comment" with your own observations, concerns, or for any other reason. If you wish to compare my own logs with Commander Mojdeh's, hers can be found here. http://mospacecamp.blogspot.com/ We have agreed to refrain from reading each others blogs until we have written our own to maintain objectivity.
Thank you for reading my breif explaination. I hope that you enjoy everything you find written here.
